Little Cowboy Ranch
This area is specially for the children who visit the Barretos Rodeo. Joining fun and socio-educational activities, the Little Cowboy Ranch receives over 70.000 visits during the event. The children take part in many activities like the “Escovódromo” or Brushdrome, where they learn mouth hygiene; Mini-City, where they learn traffic laws; Mini-Zoo, where they learn animal care; Mini-Farm, where they learn where our food comes from, garbage recycling and how to maintain traditions and so much more. Treats are also distributed by sponsors and partners of Os Independentes.
Instituto Aparecido Savegnago e APAES
Special Visits
Every year, various different institutions visit the Little Cowboy Ranch. Children`s schools are all invited to take their students to take part in moments of fun, education and culture at no financial cost.
Additionally, the Savegnago Supermarket chain, official sponsor of this area, takes people aided by the APAE (Association of Parents and Friends of the Exceptional) where they have one of their shops. The Little Cowboy Ranch welcomes over 200 children from the Aparecido Savegnago Institute and from the Barretos Cancer Hospital where they can enjoy playful moments provided by this space.

Little Cowboy Ranch
In partnership with the Barretos Education Secretariat, Os Independentes and the Master of Experimental Science from USP (São Paulo University) – Professor Luiz Ferraz Netto (Professor Leo), the “Science Park” is an area located inside the Little Cowboy Ranch, where many school projects are shown for visiting students and for those interested in observating and learning through scientific experiments done with alternate materials. PET plastic bottles, aluminium cans and many other items which were previously discarded have now become part of the education of students from the Barretos region.
UNIFEB Partnership
The UNIFEB´s (Barretos Educational Foundation) University Centre has been around in the region for more than 40 years. Os Independentes, in a partnership together with UNIFEB is developing many projects to get the University`s students involved and collaborate towards their graduation, as well as taking their Academic experience to the events in the “Parque do Peão”.
UNIFEB “CURSINHO” BOOKS
Os Independentes has been supporting the UNIFEB Cursinho, or “revision course”, for the past two years, making 160 books used by the students of the project. This revision course, which is free of charge, is aimed solely at under-privileged University candidates as a means to open the doors to a University education for them..
