Gossip Point
Keeping alive the roots and culture of the interior of Brazil is also part of the main programme of the Barretos Rodeo. In its 56th edition, which happens from the 18th to the 28th of August 2011 at the Parque do Peão, the event maintains attractions which are part of the history of the Brazilian cowboy who blazed through national territory driving cattle herds to the interior and who were responsible for the founding of many towns.
This is what happens at the Gossip Point, another attraction that happens during the Barretos Rodeo which helps maintain our traditions. This is the space for 10 string guitar root music. Duos, singers, Brazilian roots declaimers, amateurs and professionals may present themselves on stage here at the Gossip Point. “To keep up with tradition the use of the 10 string guitar is obligatory and the use of any electronic instrument such as a keyboard and playback is also forbidden”, explains event organizer Onofre Rosa Rezende. The presentations at the Pau do Fuxico or Gossip Point happen from the 18st to the 20rd and the 26th from the 28th of August as of 3pm.
